Data Collection

This extension collects no data whatsoever:

• No personal information
• No page content
• No browsing history
• No analytics or telemetry
• No cookies or tracking

How It Works

CleanRead operates entirely locally within your browser. It uses Mozilla's Readability library to extract article content from the current page and displays it in a clean reading overlay. All processing happens on your device. No data ever leaves your browser.

Permissions

• activeTab — Required to read page content and inject the reading view on the current tab.
• scripting — Required to inject the Readability parser, styles, and reading overlay.

Third-Party Libraries

This extension includes Mozilla's Readability.js (open-source, bundled locally). It makes no network requests and uses no external services.
