How It Works

MuteTab operates entirely locally within your browser. It uses the Chrome Tabs API to mute and unmute tabs. Your mute preferences are saved locally using Chrome's storage API. No data ever leaves your device.

Permissions

• tabs — Required to detect which tabs are playing audio and to mute or unmute them.
• storage — Required to save your mute preferences locally.

Third-Party Services

This extension makes no network requests and uses no third-party services.
